Emergency Procedures

During the course of business it’s likely some type of emergency (fire, explosion, earthquake, flood, domestic violence, etc.) will occur. The better prepared your employees are, the greater likelihood injuries and property damage can be prevented.

The following general guidelines may help in the event of an emergency:

  • All employees should be trained in emergency and evacuation procedures.
  • Emergency telephone numbers should be posted.
  • Managers should know the location of any sprinkler control valve(s), main electrical disconnect switch (es), gas shut-off valve(s), water supply shut-off valve(s), etc.
  • Adequate first aid supplies should be provided.
  • Emergency lighting should be available.
