In 1969, a group of resourceful and enterprising food retailers recognized the need for insurance protection especially designed to protect against the unique hazards encountered by their fellow food retailers. With the supermarket industry continuously evolving and changing, it was evident food retailers needed the kinds of protection best provided by individuals who understood the needs, exposures and risks unique to the grocery industry. In short, they understood that food retailers could be best served through insurance planned and provided by specialists with a special affinity for the characteristics of this fast changing industry. This was the setting in which RISK PLANNERS, INC., a subsidiary of America's largest food wholesaler, was created. In the ensuing years, they have continued to design products and services which provide retail grocers comprehensive protection in all phases of their business.
